What better way to experience some of BC’s best winter wilderness than boon-docking, carving turns, and floating through powder-filled playgrounds by staying with us!

If you’d rather skip the guided tour, there are many snowmobiling trails and routes you can explore on your own, though please take proper safety precautions. Bring your own machine or rent one from Toby Creek Adventures.

Snowmobiling trails are indicated on this trail map from Toby Creek Adventures and this interactive map from the BC Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts, but to get you started, we’ve listed some of the area’s most popular trails below:

  • Forester Creek: one of this region’s sledding gems, the trail is managed and groomed by the Windermere Valley Snowmobile Club and can be accessed about 20 minutes west of Radium Hot Springs. The trail gradually ascends to alpine meadows & a warm-up shelter. More advanced riders can challenge Forester Pass.
  • Rocky Point: this steep 6km trail, gaining over 900 metres in elevation, is better suited to advanced riders. The trail connects to several alpine basins and scenic Grizzly Ridge with panoramic views of the Bugaboos.
  • Brewer Creek: about an hour drive from Radium, this trail offers moderate alpine riding, following Brewer Creek to open meadows, larch forest trails, and Mineral/Brewer Pass. Stay right at km 11 mark and left at km 12.3 mark.
  • Silent Pass: this trail is a popular alpine destination at the head of McMurdo Creek. Please be aware of posted signs, as some trail areas are prohibited to snowmobilers.

No matter where you use your snowmobile in the Columbia Valley, it’s likely you will be travelling on a Forest Service road at some point. Please review the publication “Forest Roads, Guide for Safe Travel” prior to your trip.

The Radium Hot Springs Fishing Lakes Map offers a detailed look at RDEK Area G’s Back Country/Forest Service roads in the area between Spillimicheen and Invermere.
